Happy Thanksgiving and My 2009 Meal Menu

As I sit here looking over billyctv.com, I suddenly realized I have never written about my Thanksgiving dinner menu!

This is the same menu (more or less) we have used for years in my family, it changes very little. The combination of flavors and aromas is just perfect for this Holiday.

The center piece of the meal, of course, is the turkey stuffed with my Grandmother's stuffing recipe. This stuffing is the Pecan and Pear stuffing I posted earlier for you. Its simplicity compliments the other flavors in the meal. I did change it this year by adding some raisins though and yes it has been taste tested, LOL!

Today's meal consists of the following:

1. Herb & Butter Turkey stuffed with Pear Pecan stuffing.
2. Granny's Mashed Potatoes
3. Macaroni & Cheese
4. Broccoli & Rice Casserole
5. Sweet Potato Casserole
6. Green Bean Casserole
7. Pecan Pie
8. Sweet Potato Pie
9. Home made Yeast Rolls
10. Home made Cranberry Relish

So that's what I'm having for today's meal. I think its very traditional and very "me" in nature. I would love to think that my grandmother would be proud of me for cooking this meal today. One thing I have to say right now, on this special Holiday of giving thanks is that I am very thankful for both of my Grandmothers that I had in my life. I would like to think that even with all my faults, that I am the man that I am because of them, and that they are proud of me.

Also I want to thank each and everyone of you that may take the time to read this blog post for being here with me through the last year. I want you to understand that I am eternally blessed for each and everyone of you and thankful for you in every way.

Have a great Thanksgiving and may the Lord bless each of you this day and in the coming Christmas Holiday season.

Again, God Bless each and everyone of you and thank you for everything you have done for me.

Happy Thanksgiving Billy! Wow I have to say, I've never had any of those casserole dishes, nor pecan or sweet potato pie. It all sounds sooo good though. It's always a pleasure to stop by your page and see "what's new". We are thankful for you too! Blessings, Martha
